Process for ordering website hosting and website design services
If you are familiar with how an online shopping cart (like amazon.com or Kalahari.net) works then ordering from us should be a snap.
Here’s what to do.
1: Decide on a domain name for your website. A domain name is the name that visitors will use to visit your site like: www.newwebmaster.co.za - in this case newwebmaster.co.za is the domain name. You should choose something easy to remember and simple.
It is important also that nobody else has registered your domain name. To check you can type your proposed name into the form at the bottom right of every page on our website. This will take you to another site and check the entire internet to see if someone’s beaten you to it.
2: Browse the site and decide which one of the various hosting plans (A,B,C or D) and/or which website design package you are interested in. You should also decide whether you would like to use the international or local hosting option. (What’s the difference?)
3: Once you feel comfortable with your decision click on the order link next to the plan package of your choice. For the purposes of explanation we’ll use Plan C with the local option. This will take you to a “Order Status” page that looks like this

This displays the Plan C that we chose – tells us that we only want one of them and the price displayed is the monthly fee that we will be paying.
4: If you already have a domain name that you will be using but this domain is hosted by another company then you need to go back to the plans page which you can do by clicking on the “Continue browsing” button underneath the order status. Now you will need to click the order link next to the “Domain Transfer” product on that page. (It’s about two-thirds of the way down).
If you only want us to register and park a domain name for you until you are ready to host or transfer it to someone else then do not order a hosting plan – just order a domain registration from the plans page.
If you do not yet have a domain name and you are happy with your choice then you can just click the “Order” button on the Order status page above.
5: You will now be shown a form asking for your personal and contact details. It’s all private and confidential – we don’t share information with anybody.
The page looks like this:

The part that is circled in red here is about your new domain. In the Domain Name to be Registered field fill in the full domain name that you are choosing eg) www.joesmith.co.za or www.mynewwebsite.com.
Next we ask you to confirm this domain name. Type it in again exactly as you did the first time
Now provide a username and a password for your website. It is important that you remember this (don’t worry it will be e-mailed to you on completion of your order). You will use this username and password to get ftp access to your website and also to get into your control panel once your website is up and running.
Next a short, one line description of your website. Nothing fancy – just one sentence like “A site advertising gifts” or “Personal home page of Joe Bloggs”
The checkbox asking you if you want our system to remember your details for when you next visit will mean that the form will be pre-filled in with all your details in case you ever decide to purchase another product from us.
The order form continues – asking you for some comments and also to check the box asking you if you have agreed to our terms of service.
6: Once you have completed the form click on the continue button and you will be taken to a screen that looks like this :

Simply select Direct deposit from the drop down field for Payment type and then click continue.

This completes your order. As you can see you can print it for your records but there’s no need really because you should receive an e-mail confirming your order within 5 minutes or so. If it doesn’t arrive – let us know and we’ll track it down.
And that’s it. You are done. Once your order reaches us – we’ll start the process. We’ll get back to you the same day letting you know the status of your order.
